What do you mean for Garmin Point of Interest?
If you mean Cyclops and/or other Viability POI the answer is No.

These POI are not integrated into Maps update, you must update it by yourself

ola, tenho um muvi 1300, preciso de mapas e pois americanos, estou indo viajar e pretendo levar meu Garmin, alguem pode me orientar qual a melhor opção? meu aparelho tem somente 2 gb de memoria, tenho um cartão de mais 2 gb, é suficiente ou devo comprar um cartão com maior capacidade? desde já muito obrigado

You need a 4GB SD card (formatted, FAT32 format)
Map of the whole North America ~ size 2,77 GB
Look Post 12

Rename the gmapprom file into gmapsupp and then copy it to the SD card in the Garmin\ directory.
(if the Garmin directory does not exist, manually create it)
And that's that.

I think was has me confused is the POI Folder which contains the xxxx.gpi file. I'm beginning to think that is only for user-created points of interest. When I choose "Where To", then "Points of Interest" does that bring up info from the gmapprom (or supp) file, or from the POI Folder, or both? In other words, if I don't have any user-created POIs, am I automatically getting the latest Garmin POIs from the gmapprom file?

ok, entendi perfeitamente, usei um cartão de 8gb, usei somente o mapa de 2,77gb, mas uma coisa muito importante tambem são os radares de velocidade, onde consigo baixar o arquivo atualizado, muito obrigado pela pronta resposta.
