Does anyone know if the Garmin Points of Interest get updated when you install the gmapprom file? (doesn't look like it to me) If not, how do we go about updating that file?

I'm trying to update my Map which is North America (ALL). Your link has folders broken down by region such as Canada, US + Canada, Mexico.......but not one for North America overall. Which files will I need? Appreciate your help.

HI, I am new to this forum and not very tech savy. I have Garmin 765 and would like to update maps for US and Canada and Europe.I downloaded from the link, renamed the file, copied into SD card but get te eeror message cannot unlock maps. Can you please please help me.

sounds like you downloaded "locked" maps you can unlock them yourself with Gimgun just highlight the link below and copy into your browser

Drag the map .img file onto the gimgunlock-0.04 icon

Thanks for the rply. When i move the .img file to the exe it shows lot of lines moving in the terminal window but where do i get the unclocked maps.

It will be easier if you can let me know if there are any unlocked maps. Also, what files will be required to download apart from GMAPPROM.IMG for my Nuvi 765.

i am enjoying the maps absolutely free thanks for your support i was able to add the map to my garmin.
There are many other foler like JCV, 3D etc..do i need to upgrade my garmin by adding them to the device?
if So, Please let me know the process of downlaoding and installing other important files.
