however it will lack search functions because GMAPTool cannot process the MDR data needed for indexing of address search. So it will be useless if the preview map data is compiled by MapSource or MapInstall as an IMG file to use on a device. It isn't possible to fully reverse engineer an IMG to .GMAP. However BaseCamp can use locked and unlocked IMG files directly from device or media card. MapSource like BaseCamp can use the PC Installed map data fully so look for .GMAP version to use.
