I have a Suzuki Swift that uses Garmin unit/maps so the files have to be in a Garmin Folder on the SD card. So do I need to place all the ASR SID on the card too? The built in map on the unit is from 2015. Problem is the new map is read and can be seen in the about map bit and seems to use it, but the voice navigation stops working ( Tried UK and Western Europe maps). This happened on the 2018 version too, only was I could get the voice navigation to work was by using the full Europe map.
Any help appreciated as I could really do with just using the cut down UK map
thanks

Can I get an honest answer why you don't want to use the full 2018 Europe map if the voice is going to work? Does the screen lag or something? Also I wouldn't mind looking into the folder structure of the SD card that connects to a uConnect or Suzuki Swift system since I have never seen it/no one has been able to provide it yet (even a screenshot would do, at least I haven't seen it). Generally, you must make sure that you get the ASR file from the same user post as one that would post a Garmin composed IMG and that you can verify it would work with your unit. On a regular GPS unit, everything fits into a normal Garmin folder with ASR, JCV, Map etc. each in their separate sub folders.
Keep in mind the map in this thread is a unicode version.

Hi, sorry for the late reply , I have been away
Can I get an honest answer why you don't want to use the full 2018 Europe map if the voice is going to work? (UPDATE as I have read elsewhere it cant handle a map over 4GB, the unit just resets with the full map) The last image (2019.10) was 3,948,096 the 2019.20 is 4,001,856 so the 2019.10 wasn't a problem.
Also I wouldn't mind looking into the folder structure of the SD card that connects to a uConnect or Suzuki Swift system since I have never seen it/no one has been able to provide it yet (even a screenshot would do, at least I haven't seen it).
I can only show you the structure on my SD card ( I just use a Garmin Folder with the usual sub folders ( ASR, GMAP3d,JCV,POI,SID,SQLite ) and a gmapsupp.img ) as I can't access the unit itself. There was a thread on a Suzuki forum on which some people were connecting to the unit itself and modding the files there, but there were serious bricking problems ( for eample)

Yes I have tried them. I will delete some music and try the full 2019.20 and see if it works
Keep in mind the map in this thread is a unicode version.
Sorry I don't understand what you mean by this can you explain, I realise there are 2 maps the normal one and is it Map source, is that what you mean?
Thanks for your help

@wilx
I'd probably give you a map of the UK for both map types but I got exams and its hard to turn one in atm. If you would like one, go pm tomojure, he's also an expert at these. I wouldn't get rid of the ASR files, it won't help you as much. The IMG files take up the most space in the microSD card. Whatever you do, none of us on this forum are to be held responsible if you accidently brick your device.

thanks,
I will pm him.
Its strange because occasionally the voice works, but 90 % of the time it doesn't
Do you mean I should use the 2019.20 ASRs or the 2019.10 ASRs? I have tried both and both work occasionally. As I say if I go back to 2019.10 with the full 3G map its fine, but this is 4G and too big to work on the Suzuki. Not sure if its a FAT limit?
What

Hi Tomojure
thanks for that I will try this. Can you tell me/ point me to what files you think I need to go with this. On my Suzuki I have it on an SD card in a Garmin folder, I have tried various files posted for 2019.20 ASR/JCV/SID/SQLite/MAP3D but 90% the voice instructions don't work, I will get "Enter Roundabout" occasionally but not "Ashby Road" etc, on the 2019.10 version the only way I could get it to work was to put on the full map 3.9G. This time the full map is over 4G, and this just crashed my unit when it loads.
Thanks in advance
