can you put it on filefactory as you do usualy

gmapprom.img unlocked and tested with latest firmware. This is all you need for handhelds..

The gmapprom files noted by bam-bam are UNLOCKED for those that simply need the map. Download files 1-5 and you're set.

Hi,

I downloaded the 5 RAR files and then extracted the gmapprom.img. When I put it on my SD memory card my Garmin 1490 does not see the map. But it does see the 2014.40 map I had on the SDCARD previously. Is there something I need to do to make this file visable on my GPS? Thanks.

My img came off my car unit and was unlocked by me, or are you talking about the people who waited for someone else to basically upload what I already had before acknowledging it was shared?

I always got a laugh out of the fact people in these communities still don't know you can basically figure out what every file type does and where it goes by looking in their device specific Garmin.xml

My post had nothing to do with IMG files. It's about someone copying my post from another forum, verbatim, without asking me first. The file contributor from that other forum shared his JCV file on the condition that I only shared with the members there. By posting my original post in its entirety here, violates my promise to that file contributor. I was forced to removed the shared file from MEGA. FYI.
