Welcome to the forum.
Your device has Lifetime maps so the updates overwrites the large files of the previous version there is very little space to recover.
I advise using an SD card if the latest maps have out grown your 8Gb internal storage.

Hello! I still use my Garmin Nüvi 1370T navigation device, which I bought from the United States in 2010! Since I have internal memory issues, how can I delete maps of America and Canada (CN North America NT 2011.10) that I never use?

You can delete the gmapprom.img from the .system folder.
But to be safe is a simple tool that can help which won't allow you to delete files that are critical.Unless you are a "New" member, having used the Thanks button regularly is the quickest way to get help.
