how to change default update region

The 2545 is normally a budget version sold with Free updates from Garmin via GE for a specific region Central ,Eastern ,UK & ROI etc, the only option you have to change regions is if you have Free updates for Europe and your devices storage is too small, then GE will suggest an SD card be added or to choose a smaller regional map.

A friend has 2545LMT every time he updates his device via GE, he has only Central Europe to choose from, but he needs Southern Europe. Is there a possibility and how? Of course later it loads the unlocked maps and the device works but I would like to change the factory selection. has a nüvi 2545 with Lifetime maps for Central Europe only ,not a device with Lifetime maps for Europe so GE won't give any alternative regions as an option.
