If compatible text and keyboard files are available for your device from Garmin then either WebUpdater or GarminExpress should offer them when you connect the aera with the software running.

However, as EN is the universal aviation language, it's quite possible that Garmin doesn't officially offer files for many other languages. However if you can't get them that way, i think from memory that aera 500 is the exact same hardware as the MC device zumo 660 and they can be fully converted aera>zumo/zumo>aera, so if the files are available for the zumo and you can locate them they would likely be compatible in your aera.
