Shifting China Maps is not simple as a different standard is used in China (GCJ-02 system against WGS84)
HERE Maps, used by Garmin adopts native GCJ-02 system for their Maps, and when plotted on a standard GPS Device (WGS84) the shift appears.
Chinese GPS Device have, embedded in GPS chips the reverse conversion algorithm, so they show the right position.
A valid alternative could be OpenStreet Maps, as they use exclusively WGS84 standard.
Map of China could be downloaded from here: .
Although these Maps seem to be illegal to use in China, they are the only solution for the shifting problem
FireFox58 Reviewed by FireFox58 on . China NT maps Hi everyone Does anyone know how to "move" (shift) a map for China, so that the coordinates and the map do match? There used to be an unofficial "venus" version of the Garmin latest China NT map updated regularly, but the guy doing it stopped a while ago. I'm an European living in south China and I'm using an old 2015 map, the latest available, which is becoming a problem due to the speed at which new highways/roads appear over here. Any help will be appreciated BR Rating: 5

@FireFox58:
someone did it years ago by "shifting" the original ENGLISH language maps that Garmin used earlier on, up to 2015, thus it is clearly doable.
That's absolutely NOT me saying it's easy, just that it is doable, so I'm looking for tools and method, so that I could sped some free time tinkering with it.
Besides, I'm looking for maps that will be usable for everyday driving, those from OpenStreetMap are hardly so.
Any help will be appreciated
