Garmin DriveSmart 50 Failed Update
Hi all,
I was trying to update a Garmin Drivesmart 50 device with the latest maps. I make the mistake of downloading webupdater instead of garmin express. The webupdater said it needed to update the GPS firmware and that the device will need to be fully charged. I allowed the device to charge for several hours and tried the update. However when I removed it from the computer the device rebooted, flashed something up on screen and switched off! I didn't realise but the battery has had it! Now the device will switch on but not link to the computer. It shows "garmin.com/express" followed by a white square with "GIR Low Mem" in red text. But won't load any further.
I had read on Garmin forums that I could try the updater.exe application along with an RGN file but this comes back with an update not required error. I did say that I can't get it to link to the computer but it will link if I press and hold upper left corner on boot and only stay connected for about 10-20 seconds max.
Would anyone have any ideas on how to fix?
