@victorka
The BIN file backup of region 154 is only useful to restore if that non-vol region becomes corrupt. Most likely the problem is elsewhere, such as there has not been a complete flashing of the main system software to region 14.
Best you supply more information:
- Please explain precisely what you mean by "unsuccessful patch" and exactly what's now happening with the device (other than the symptoms described in Post #1216 above) e.g.. was there any readable message displayed on the device screen, or was the Garmin splash screen visible normally before the screen shows only stripes; does it bootloop, freeze, turn off etc.; if it's staying on, does the screen just show the stripes continuously and uniformly or do they change; can you hear any sounds or beeps when it starts or when touching the screen in various places?
- Can the device be turned off by holding the power button down for an extended time, like 10 to 30 seconds?
- Can it enter preboot mode (shows in Device Manager under "GARMIN Devices").
- What exactly is contained in the update.log file which should have been created in the card's 2588 folder?
- Give a link to the actual SD pack you used for the flash.

Oregon 7xx (WebUpdater) 006-B2512-00 Release 5.30
Check your HWID & FW version from the device as I cannot get 5.90 ?
<Model>
<PartNumber>006-B2512-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>530</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>Oregon 700</Description>
</Model>
This is a Patched Firmware (JNX) for Garmin Oregon 7xx ver. 5.30
Since the Garmin Oregon 7xx (HWID: 2512) does not have GSV and falls into category 2 MSV: YES, GSV: ---
The Patched Firmware guarantees reading Unlocked Maps, including NTU and TOPO Maps with CP 65001.
The Patched Firmware guarantees reading of BirdEyes JNX images too.
Be sure to remove All BirdEyes images eventually present on Device before apply Patch
BirdEyes images can be restored AFTER flashing new firmware
Also, in this case the "patched" Firmware can be loaded through the normal update procedure via WebUpdater
Changes made from version 5.20 to 5.30:
Improved WiFi performance.
Fixed issue with geocache proximity alarm causing slow start up times with .ggz files loaded.
Fixed issue with slow start up after deleting .ggz files.

Patch Chart Plotters
Is it possible to patch Echomap 50S HWID 006-B1666-00 software version 6.80?
Can anyone tell me how to patch a Echomap 50s When I download the update file for echomap devices the universal patcher doesn't recognize the GCD file, but I notice it has been done for the Ultra and Plus chartplotters which use the same update file.Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 18th March 2021 at 09:46 AM.
