I don't have a DriveTrack to test on ,but I Patched the Firmware and uploaded it again.

The same I use for Garmin Astro 320.
Unfortunately it didn't work either
Stupid question: is it necessary to install the GCD firmware patch after applying the SD card KIT?

The SD card kit is just a simple method to install the Patched .gcd
Does your SD card have a new file named 154.bin on it after using the SD card kit ?
Added the patched .gcd file only ,if you want to try the method suggests, I 'm sure he will help you with installation.

Yes, and I keep a copy in a safe place as it is recomended. I can confirm that the firmware is successfully installed because the version of the firmware changes (I have installed both version 6.2 and 6.3)
I have tried it using these 2 methods (with no result):
