Hello, I am looking for some way to fix a garmin drivesmart 61 lmt-s that after the last software update stopped working, it restarts constantly, it does not recognise the PC .

Any method from the sd card ???

No, I still don't try to patch it, I'm going to try.
The only problem I see is that in the instructions recommend charging the device to full ("Make sure your device is fully charged") before inserting the sd card, and in my case it looks like the battery is completely discharged and the device does not charge it, it only starts when I connect it.
Anyway I will try to patch it and then comment the results.

It would have been helpful if you had said about the battery.

The discharged battery is most probably the cause of all your problems ,as the Firmware got interrupted while trying to install the update.
This can brick your device, that's why The first line says "Make sure your device is fully charged"
I would get another battery before I risk it again.

Do you think that it can also be the cause of the GPS getting hot as soon as I connect it?

Could be, if the battery has shorted it would get hot.
the 6' devices normally have this battery 361-00066-10 ,but double check when you open the device.

OK, I'm going to try the battery replacement.
I don't have much hope, because it warms up just on the other side, as if it wasn't the battery, so I'll see when I open it.
I will also try to connect it without the battery inserted, to see what happens.
