    Pre-Boot mode
    1. Power OFF your Nuvi.
    2. Press and keep holding the most left upper corner of the LCD screen
    3. Power ON your Nuvi but DON NOT release your finger from LCD screen (keep left upper corner of the LCD screen procedure ends)
    4. You will notice Nuvi boots in Pre-Boot mode. Now quickly connect your USB cable.


    it's better to ask for pach and make it for you

    I did the update as explained and it worked great!
    Installed the city map 2020 south with succes.
    Immediately did the same on a 2nd device of a friend, also worked out fine!
    Now, please indicate me the setup of city navigator europe 2020 so I can use it to navigate with my Motocycle!

    Is there any other option to upgrade the firmware? The updater.exe crashes as soon as it starts the update process. I tried it the way you descibed. Error info:

    You can't use updater.exe because it doesn't support the most of sports model now. But it does not matter in your case. Express could help but there is no released version of software on Garmin servers. I had checked it directly and I can confirm this fact. Probably you have a new model and initial version was 300 that is based on APAC and Japan SW for a more older device. You need wait for a release of next version and make a request.
