Can I please request a webupdater firmware for the RV770 with JNX and Maps patched.
Garmin Firmware version 7.30 HWID 2684.
The version will need to be advanced to 7.32 as the previous patched firmware that i found on here using the search didn't have JNX patch and comes up as v7.31 on my GPS.
Thank you so much for your work!iratepirate Reviewed by iratepirate on . The by FireFox58 is correct for your device as it does not have BirdsEye capabilities.

That's strange because when I put the Hema Australia map card (010-C1160-00) which is JNX files in a birdseye directory into my RV770 and enable custom maps in layers it shows up fine. I legally own all the maps I just want to put them all on one card so I don't have to swap them out whilst driving.
If you look at and then the JNX patcher lists the RV770 as compatible.
If I can get hold of a Map patched Gupdate.GCD I can try it out and get back with the results.

That's great ,I couldn't find anything about JNX/Birdseye on any Garmin info on the RV/Camper 770. but the proof is in the pudding
Please check your PM.
Just checked out my RV/Camper 775

RV775 is essentially same board as the RV770 with HWID 2684, the difference with RV775 is extra memory (8gb vs 4gb ) to accommodate the onboard Topo 150K.
The GarminDevice.xml in RV775 is a little misleading, the Hema 150k is all jnx in the Birdseye folder, and the two small .img files System/Map are actually Foursquare & Parkopedia.Last edited by Bushwalker8; 7th August 2020 at 03:31 PM.

Confirming RV770 patches and works fine with the Hema 72K Topo, Hema 150k from RV775, as well the traditional Hema 4WD maps if you have the ability to convert the other formats to JNX.
You can also layer in anything else, for example I also have a huge statewide 25K topo set in JNX as well as various historical and other map sets in the mix. The trick is configuring the correct scaling for each set/theme for seamless zooming, and also assigning appropriate product ID's to each set in your collection to enable individual map selection in the device.
Takes a bit of planning, I found JNX customiser is the best tool for this but you will need to work on the language translation and there is some learning. It allows plenty of flexibility to edit the ini file to include product ID and zoom customisations and has a great batch mode for large sets. The RV770 is also happy trawling subfolders in Birdseye, doing so makes it easier to manage large collections.
The RV770 is not limited to 32gb microSD like many other devices, to accommodate my collection on the one card I have a 128GB formatted FAT32 that works fine. After formatting a larger card the RV770 will want to see a card specific \JOURNAL\JEFF.BIN, if not present it will initialise the card to add one in and you will lose any maps on it so do that first before you copy any data onto it.
Global Mapper is good for JNX conversions and it's possible to patch it to include your own custom product ID's to make it easier.
The catch is you will have to do your first patch in pre-boot mode with a .rgn file not the .gcd. Read up on this very well and be very careful!
Otherwise all of this has all been working great for me for the last 18 months.Last edited by Bushwalker8; 7th August 2020 at 03:47 PM.

I recently updated my US Map that came with my Garmin and also updated my Garmin 2599LMTHD firmware. Now I get a message, "Cannot unlock map" error for the unlocked Europe map I have on my SD card. I remember doing something 3 years ago to fix this. I've been searching for over an hour but find those directions anywhere. Can someone help or point me in the right direction to fix this so the Garmin can read the unlocked European map? Thanks.
Edit:Thanks Moderator. HWID is 1947. I thought I had signed up with the same username a few years ago, but couldn't log in recently and had to re-registered.So I use the directions from page 1 of this thread?Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 8th August 2020 at 04:21 AM. Reason: Removed irrelevant quote

So we can only assume you had Patched firmware on your device and updating with Garmin Express has replaced it.
Confirm your HWID is 1758 or 1947 from your garmindevice.xml

One of the advantages of using the "Thanks button' is it's recorded, and you would have instantly known what you have done previously.! Did you have another username before?Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 6th August 2020 at 04:40 AM.

So, I'm having some issues. I'm supposed to open the gupdate.gcd file in the firmware patcher right, but I can't figure out where the gupdate.gcd file is. I looked in the system folder but it's not there.
I updated the Garmin again hoping that it will show up in the system folder of my Garmin but it's not there. Any suggestions?

The Patch Kit is the easiest to use, try first
Patch Kit by FireFox58 for HWID 1947 Only
Nuvi 25x9 C4 (1947) fw8.80.rar
Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed,so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.
