Drivesmart 61 currently at firmware 4.10 using Firefox's kit. I looked at updating to 6.0 or 6.10 using Methode 2, and, prior to starting GE looked in the \.System directory and do not find GUPDATE.GCD. Is this file put in the device during the update by GE (but then is deleted/disappears after the update)?

I did read the instructions, but it was not clear if the GUPDATE.GCD was modified by GE or transferred to the device. Looking at the .\system folder, not seeing it, I could visualize a scenario where the file was not there (modified by GE) and "very important" have to remove device or scramble to find the file.... prior to reboot taking place...so my question was a clarification (of the implication) in the instructions...again, apologies and thanks for your patience...

Update: Using methode 2 updated Drivesmart 61 to firmware 6.10 (no map update). Map and custom POIs work, but on starting from "off" get "maps are corrupt and cannot be used, go to GE to update" even though all maps work, and the warning continues after installing via GE new NT internally.
When memory card, with unlocked maps, is removed the cold boot warning does not appear. So firmware 6.10 has some check on the memory card unlocked maps, but they still work....
Will play with this some more, but may go back to previous 4.1 firmware package...Last edited by floydo; 2nd June 2019 at 02:07 AM. Reason: update

floydo, just for your info. I have a Drivesmart 61 updated to firmware 6.0 and unlocked map (Europe) on a sdcard and it works perfect. Custom POIs also works. Out of the box speed cam file does not. I created a custom speed camera file and it works perfect. I just got back from Slovenia and Croatia and it picked up all the speed cameras, I hope........

I have a GPSMAP 276CX with firm GPSMAP276cx_(2479)_430_JNXPatched.
Garmin has released (May 29, 2019) the new version v.4.60 for the GPSMAP 276CX
An new update for Firmware Patcher from version 4.30 to 4.60 would be useful as Garmin did an update.
I would highly appreciate any help provided!

This is a Patched Firmware (JNX + Unlocked Maps) for GPSMAP276cx ver. 4.60
Since the GPSMAP276cx (HWID: 2479) does not have the GSV and falls into category 2
MSV: Yes, GSV: ---
In this case the Patched Firmware guarantees the correct reading of Unlocked Maps, including NTU and TOPO Maps with CP 65001.
The Patched Firmware guarantees reading of BirdEyes JNX images too.
Be sure to remove All BirdEyes images eventually present on Device before apply Patch
BirdEyes images can be restored AFTER flashing new firmware
Also, in this case the "patched" Firmware can be loaded through the normal update procedure via WebUpdater

anyone already got a chance to patch the Edge 830 v3.20 Firmware?

I tried using this Patcher by myself, but doesn't seem to do anything:
