You have no need to enter Pre-Boot mode, you have to follow one of these 2 ways:
- Use of WebUpdater tu upgrade Firmware ( is HowTo)
- Extract GCD from RAR archive, rename it as GUPDATE.GCD and copy it in \Garmin folder of GPSMAP 66sr Device.
Reboot Device to Upgrade

If by 'unlock' you mean "patch firmware to use unlocked maps"? - Yes, but you must use either preboot or sd card method to flash patched firmware initially because it has GSV (Garmin/gupdate Software Verification):

You asked about dezl 770. The dezl OTR700 is a much more recent and different device which i don't think can have it's fw patched. Maybe others know for sure.

I tried to make it but is impossible to me! I created de patched gupdate file save it with rgntool but when tried to put it in the gps with the updater appear an error and is impossible to run. I do it manually and copy the gupdate patched file in the system clear the memory but the gps continue with the message that the maps is corrupt. Please help me! Thanks you! Or if possible to help me to do the file!
