Drivesmart 61 with patched version 6.0 firmware was apparently subsequently updated with Garmin Express. Firmware update in GE was not selected, but now the device shows ver 6.3 and has a splash screen "maps are corrupt" however all maps seem to work. Should the device be flashed to (6.3) with the SD kit or another method? Also can Garmin Express be used without affecting the firmware in the future? Apologies, but a bit confused at the moment. Reading the How to firmware patcher pdf instructions it appears that it is possible to get a clean firmware upgrade using the SD card custom package (6.3), since the RGN tool would show Firmware SW 631?

Update - Used SD card custom package 6.30 from Firefox. Cleaned up error message. Also found and cleaned up a number of .sum files and older ASR and other files that were not removed from previous updates....Most likely at least the last update using GE resulted in most of the residual files that were not removed, and also created the splash screen error message...All good.
Thx Firefox...I was not clear that the 6.3 could overwrite a 6.3, but the kit worked...
