Isn't it LM ? LifeMap Update for free ?

Requesting some help for this GPS please. I am having issues getting maps to work.
Is it possible to patch it or do something else so that unlocked maps work?

If your Device has LM account, simply use Garmin Express to update Maps.
If instead Device doesn't have any LifeTime account you should apply Patch to Firmware in order to read Unlocked Maps.

Thanks for the answers, Unfortunately it seems it's not the case with this unit. Garmin Express gives me the option to buy the latest map, not to upgrade. Thanks for pointing me out to the SD Package. I will try it out. I always thought that with most garmin devices you only need to download unlocked map (or unlock them by yourself) and replace the original map. but it's not the case with newer models?

No, it's not the case. All recent Automotive Devices have protections against Unlocked Maps.
Patching Firmware is the only way

Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,55,65, zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 are all in the same category.
No solution yet as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new format.

hi, first, great work that you guys doing with all this info and files.
im new on this thing,
I do have a garmin drivesmart 50, with north america lifetime update maps.
But Im from Brazil and want to add south america maps.
i struggling to understand the procedure with so many info, to be able to unlock maps so I can use the south america maps in my garmin.
I added 8gb micro sdcard on it, because the internal memory is almost full.

any chance that someone point me the right direction? with the correct files to use? please?
