This way don´t work. You need a 4 GB, better 8 GB Sd card. Put it in the SD-Slot of your Car, Ignition On, Tomtom On. Go to settings to Update. Type it. Wait any second, than TT off, Ignition Off. Any File on your SD-card. Open loopdir.ex in Folder loopdir with R Link Explorer, ttgo.bif inside, make a Copy to the root of your device. Search here in this Board patched 10.855 from @ simba, put it in the sd-card, a Map and safety Cams of your choise with TTactivator, actived the Map/Cams with TTactivator. Put SD in your Car, Ignition on, TT on, Update. That it---all Tools find here with the Search Fuction

I know I'm a bit late to the party with this but I know my nb1 has a sim installed somewhere. I found a setting in it while trying to look up subscription services yesterday that showed me status of my connection and it had an imei number and sim number although showed as not connected, I have a vague feeling it uses vodafone network and it's got me wondering because when the car was new it had a free subscription for the 1st year which i then paid for until the car was 3 yrs old. now the last 3 years it hasn't been used, has vodafone or who ever the network provider is shut it down as they do that with sims that have not pinged the network after a certain time i believe. I am thinking if i can locate said sim and try a Pay as you go sim in it will it work. i have the same thing in a tracker on my other car just uses a few pence every few months.

I doubt if you can change the SIM. The one in there will probably be dedicated in some way to only call TomTom, but who knows? I imagine it is secured in some way so TomTom can control who has access to their update services, but feel welcome to try.

just wondering if the details are stored in the unit rather than the sim as if that is the case maybe it could work as long as the sim is active on a network??

maybe if i have the time one day i will check it.
