    Hi all,

I'm new here, so I apologize if I'm asking stupid questions - but I'm a bit lost.
I have a Mazda CX-5 2014 (NB1 unit), and today I tried to upgrade the map through the TomTom HOME application to the latest version (1040.9858), but it won't let me complete the purchase. I assume this is because my unit does not support this latest official version (for some stupid reason - did they not think the car would last longer than 6 years??)
Anyway - what do I need to do to get updated maps? I looked at the original post and the guide on the first page of this thread, but I'm not sure if that's still the way to go...? Could anyone please help me out on how to do this?

So after completing the instructions (I used a fresh memory card), the car says "no map found". So I figure fair enough, I must have done something wrong, and prepared to try again. But on a whim I tried inserting the original card in the car, and I get the same error message..! This worries me, have I somehow broken the navigation system??

If it matters, I used navcore 10.854, Europe_1040_9861 maps, and the FastActivate program

Did you use the patched NC (the bug-fixed and patched NC 10.855 is recommended)? And have you exchanged the alternative *.meta with the *.meta of your NB1-map and are the alternative activation codes entered in the meta.txt of your FastActivate? The current 1040 NB1 maps can only be activated by a detour. Or you must use the TTActivator. And last but not least: Europe_1040_9861 isn't a NB1-Map. The current NB1-Europe-map is Europe_1040_9858. The easiest way to get and activate this map is via the tool TTActivator.

Thanks for the advice about TTActivator! However, that tool doesn't seem to have a readme/instruction, so again I find myself a little lost. Here's what I did:
    1. Downloaded TTActivator
    2. Took a clean copy of my original SD-card onto my hdd
    3. Tried running TTActivator and pointing it to this new folder; however that didn't work (nothing showed up)
    4. Tried running TTActivator and pointing it to a clone SD instead, with same results

Any help on how to do this...? Thank you again!

Sorry for the late reply. Here you can find informations about TTActivator:

First: you need the menue from picture 2, select "Update Meta"
Second: you need the menu from picture 4, select "Map Kind/Generation" and there the selection "nav3-fuji". This are the NB1-maps. Select the desired map from the selection-menu below, e.g. "Europe" or one of the NB1-zone-maps.
Third: set the temporary download folder and the target folder. Recommend is downloading the map to the computer, then copying the map folder to the memory card.
Fourth: Connect your prepared new memory card (with patched NC, created ttgo.bif and new NB1-map) with your computer. Select "Installed Content" from the TTActivator main menu. You should see a window like this:

Click on "Activate". You should get this (depending on the selected map):

That's all. Go to your car and insert the memoy card. Turn on the NB1:

Select the green tick (or wait for the countdown). Then wait for the update:

After the automatic restart the NB1-Info-screen should show the new NC and the new map:

    Finished.

Thanks to @Schwan for the NB1 pictures.

Hi guys. I am a new member of the group. I have a maze with NB1 navigation, and I am trying to update it. I do everything as described in the first page. My navigation system is 10.855 after inserting the sd card with the ttsystem file nothing happens. If the file is deleted, navigation starts but pops up
"You cannot use this map on this device"

You are doing something wrong. Send me your loopback file, I'll see what I can do.

Hey guys is there a patched version of NC 10.855 that supports TMC? I was previously running "1-TMC-simba-10_854-ttsystem.7z" which gave me traffic via RDS-TMC. However now I have upgraded to patched 10.855 that seems to have gone away. I assume I have to run 10.855 to use the latest maps? otherwise I will downgrade to 10.854.

No, you can also use with a (patched) NC 10.854 the newest NB1-maps.
@simba had fixed the NB1-NC for using TMC on an Australian NB1, this the version you use. Not sure if here also a TMC-fixed 10.855.

Edit: I can find here only a TMC_Australia-simba-10_854-ttsystem_patched...
