Sorry Phenix, I somehow missed this post last December, and only just came across it now, after receiving a notification about a later post.

I did not receive a PM from you about inconsistencies (if that's what you meant). Did you send me one?

As for the issue of instructions for plain old Windows Explorer, I would think anyone with the ability to do this map hack would already know how to copy and delete files using WE, so I don't thinks it's necessary to change those instructions. I've not seen comments from anybody else having problems with my instructions.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Daniel

    Hi,
I know I'm a bit late to this party but perhaps there is still someone here who can put me on the right track. My daughter who lives several hundred km away has sent me the SD Card from her Mazda 6 and asked if I can update it because she knows I am a keen fiddler with iGO navigation software. I have read through the thread, particularly the info from DanielF and Greatnloopy, and tried to follow the instructions given.

I made a clone of the original SD and put it out of harm's way. The clone is recognised by Tomtom HOME version 2.11.4.175 as Mazda Navigation System NB1. Tomtom HOME offers to update the app to version 10.855 so I have downloaded simba's modified version from the first post and copied the files to the root of the SD

When it comes to updating the maps I am struggling to know which map to use. There are 3 New Zealand maps listed on the Map Thread Finder page:
    1005_8765 Mainly for XXL/ONE-IQ/XL-IQ/Start/GO x20-30-40-50/BlueMe, includes CSPEECH+ALG+IQR
    1015_9107 Specific Carminat
1015_9110 Mainly for GO x10/GO 700/Rider, includes CSPEECH
Can anyone advise which, if any of these, should I choose?

I have also struck a problem with creating the ttgo.bif file for Fast Activate. The instructions say to remove all text after the line that starts with "BackupFSVersion=". This line is not present in my System Information so I'm not at all sure where to end my .bif file.

Can someone perhaps please check their System Information as displayed by TomTom home and let me know which lines are immediately before and after "BackupFSVersion="

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Richard

AFAIK, you need an Android map and the only one that fits the bill is the 9107, but in the compatibility chart there are warnings for NZ and it does not have CSpeech/ASR. Really you want 9106 or the Mazda specific maps but there are no meta's for them. With 9107, delete the arp*.dat files.

In ttgo.bif, my last lines are:

You need to have the NB1 maps or it won't work. If you have the original SD card, then you can find out which map you need via Tomtom Home.
I think you need the 1015_9147 version. At least I did for Europe and it works.
You find them in the "V1015 Maps Collection only" thread.

I will contact my daughter and see if she needs/uses the voice recognition function. I have tried the iGO version of VR on my portable device and found it useless as the voices really struggle with our Maori street and place names.

This is interesting... My downloaded data stops at "VehicleIdentification=" so I'll try finishing my ttgo.bif at the same point an see what happens... I can always try adding your BackupFSVersion=1234567 if it doesn't work .

TomTom HOME indeed says I need the NB1 version 1015_9147 maps, but the posts from DanielF and Greatnloopy seem to suggest others can be used. I have had a look back through the archives but it doesn't look like NB1 maps have ever been shared for anywhere except Europe so perhaps there is a chance something else will work.

On another note, is the reason for the modified application file so the system will read "informally" supplied maps?

    Next, the meta code.

@k1w1_123: If you need a non-Europe-map for your NB1, you can use a High-Level-map (but not Carminat-maps like 1015_9107!) with known code (in # 3 not quite correct called "ANDROID maps").
E.g. the United_States_2GB_1015_9105 and use the instructions in #3 to combine this map with your existing old NB1-USA-map. If you need another map for your NB1, e.g. a USA_Canada, you can use USA_Canada_1015_9105 and the instructions in #3.
