How to install DSA
How to install DSA
Download and unzip the latest dsa-DayMonthYear.zip package available.
Since the graphical front end is written in Java, download and install Java from .
Windows Installation
Execute (click on) program dsa(.msi) from within top folder dsa.app.
Mac OSX86 Installation
Use Finder to copy the downloaded dsa application to the Applications folder.
Linux Installation
Add to the Desktop a symbolic link to file dsa.app/Contents/Resources/Java/dsa.jar or create a proper Desktop launcher of command java -jar dsa.app/Contents/Resources/Java/dsa.jar.
Arrange in the first case that files with a .jar extension be executed with command java -jar.
A recommended icon for the dsa Desktop link/launcher would be either file dsa.app/Contents/Resources/Java/help/favicon.ico or file dsa.gif which is part of the dsa.jar archive.
Other Unix Installation
The Unix flavor recognized by Java is displayed on the first line of the dsa tray, accessible by clicking the unlabeled check box to the left of the big Patch button.
Make a new directory named as your recognized Unix flavor into the dsa.app/Contents/Resources/Java directory. Replicate the contents of folder dsa.app/Contents/Resources/Java/Linux to the new folder.
Enter directory dsa.app/Contents/Resources/Java/firmware and execute the (GNU) make command.
Copy (with overwrite) the executable files ttimgextract, mkfwimage, and cpiotr to subdirectory bin of your new folder.
Some further adjustments of your OS commands used by DSA might still be necessary, on a case by case basis.
In principle, the core dsa scripts are compatible with GNU commands.R@me$h Reviewed by R@me$h on . You can install it manually:
Extract the zip contents (dsa.app\Contents\Resources\Java) to a directory
Extract the zip contents (dsa.app\User's Application Data Folder) to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming (so you get dsa.app folder)
Run it whith "javaw -jar dsa.jar" inside the directory of the installation
