The first one is to activate a total lock down of your device which mean, no little power consuming anymore while it sleep
I guess the last is to activate QuickGSPFix ?

No, after a few days your battery will be completely empty because a little bit of power is constantly consumed, more or less in the stand by mode.
The same happens when you have a hard reset button, Suicide counts down for a few seconds and then does the same as the hard reset button, which is not on every TomTom

I thought I read (many moons ago) that the suicide button was for French drivers to instantly shutdown their devices if stopped by the gendarmes ever since the law changed?

That's also true, but for heaven's sake, don't tell any further, please.
Normaly it switched off after 10 seconds depending on your setting

The suicide file only has a number inside (10 normally) and what that file does is that if you turn off your gps and spend more than 10 seconds off, the next time you turn on your gps, it will start as if it had done a reset.
If you turn off your gps and turn it on within 10 seconds, it will start normally.
    Menta says in a post:

    Suicide.dat

Initially this file executes a total disconnection of the battery, whose original function is to preserve the battery in long stops.

Some users comment that with SirfIII x20 x30 and navcores 9.702, after the validity of ephem / quickfix their devices do not see satellites, the use of suicide.dat, has an effect that solves this incidence, when starting it up after being activated correctly it allows get satellites in two or three minutes,

With the Speedy29 menu is initially disabled, to put it into service the device should not be charged, only with battery, press enable to activate it and the device will restart, wait to see the main screen to say something and stop the device, with the device stopped, you wait for 20 seconds for example (always a time greater than the value that appears in the file) and you start it, now it is activated.

X40 x50 I leave suicide.dat or remove it from the root ... because I have it disabled, when I leave it, I will activate it, if you put the device into service regularly and leave it alone you will get satellites without major incidence even without ephem updated

But my suicide icon does not act as a push button, because it has two enable or disable positions.
When I change the position it has, the device restarts, changing the position it had before.
Does this mean that, in enable mode, the low consumption mode is activated every time I turn off the device, without having to do anything else?

    Exactly, zero or less consumption.
The problem? If you make a route and stop and turn off your gps for more than 10 seconds, when you turn on the gps you have to enter a route again.
Since when turning on it is as if you had made a reset.

Whenever I have rebooted, my route has been preserved. What has happened to me is that I have lost the satellites.
