It could be down to the file permission within Windows 10. Could you go to the ini file manually and try and edit it. Make a copy of the file first. You can edit it using “notepad”.
This will allow you to find out if it a file permission issue

Many Thanks Marsellus for the reply it would appear it is a permission issue. clicked on the icon and when to advanced and changed permissions for users and it allowed me to edit and save however my XXL has now been formatted and has nothing on it and TTHome is still telling me i need to update to the current navcore is this because there is actually nothing on it.

1. Ignore TTHome, it does nothing for you
2. Instal one of the SE 9.701/9.702 navcores from the stickies above
3. Add the truck map folder & run F/A
4. Remember on these older devices you need the navcore & map together, internal OR SD card but not split as you can on the <x20'sPlease do not just post "thanks" but use the "thanks" button bottom/right or the reputation star "*" bottom/leftS i m p l e s

Cheers biggerdave will do...! The last time I added truck map& and navcore to my TT 940 with internal drive. I never used home, so makes more sense to me. However what do you suggest to install maps and navcore, as fast activate doesn't appear to work with my XXL and windows 10 and its the latest version from here

Did you check already your mailbox ?
Just follow Dave's four staps.
Start the whole proces in an empty folder on your pc and copy it later to an SDHC card
Don't forget to clean your internal memory.

Sometimes F/A can play up (if it does, what error message are you getting?) then what ofeten works is install F/A inside the map folder & run it from there, worth a try.

Hi biggerdave
Had navcore patched and loaded but map would not run I then received navcore from pe1agp I therefore reformatted my TomTom and installed a navcore that was obviously tried and tested and also a reliable source. loaded 9.7 nav for X50 then installed the map, but when i tried to boot it i got a message
"Problem with map"
You cannot use this map on this device: Europe_Truck-101687
I am therefore presuming that the map is not patched I have copied FA on to the drive its self but it does not appear to be activating the map i get the following message

9.7 for X50 is NOT going to work
Try either the 9.701 or 9.702 x00, One, One XL as they are specifically for these older models
AGAIN, you have not updated F/A to latestPlease do not just post "thanks" but use the "thanks" button bottom/right or the reputation star "*" bottom/leftS i m p l e s
