GPS Truck A little advice needed

    Hi Guys
Could do with a little advice I'm not total newb to this, however it is some time since, I last hacked my TomTom, Which was a TomTom GO910 and I did manage to get it working perfectly, but that was back in 2012. 6 years down the line my GO910 has gone to that electronic resting place in the sky. I still have all the files on a memory stick the Navcor I used back then was 8.398 which has now been replaced and we are on 9.702 I see from reading other posts on here.

I have FastActivate, TTCurrentConfig and BBS Tool. My Real problem is that I am wanting to install tucking Maps and Navcore to my TomTom XXL Classic, which only has an internal memory of 4GB no option for an SD card.

I don't needs POI, So I know I can cut files down. But back in 2012 I didn't use TTHome. All connection to the SATNAV were via the software I was using. My second question therefore is there any software TThome doesn't like...?. I tried looking for tutorials but I'm getting a bit confused about certain aspects of the Navcore that won't work i.e height in feet and inches or widths. i.e you can't put 15 Ft 6" inches in it either has to be 15Ft or 16Ft. now this could be the difference of a direct route or a 15 mile detour. I think I might be trying to read too much all at once and and not getting the gist. However Ive Just got my Brand New 68 plate Mercedes Actros yesterday and I don't want to be crunching it within the first week I previously had a DAF CF, but the fifth wheel on this Actros is 5 inch higher. therefore I know I can go the usual routes I have been using.

    Europe_TRUCK_1015_9113 is nearly 3.4GB
    Navcore 9.702.1512362. is nearly 43MB
It seems to me that your 4GB won't be a problem to store this map
Just give it a try, it's always possible to delete unnecessary cspeech files for instance
Be sure to make a full copy of your system first.

    AFTER A FULL WINDOWS BACK!

Things you can delete from the map FOLDER:-

All cspeech files as well as the following files:
    crpoi.dat
    poi.dat
    cphoneme.dat

then, from your single (UK?) country map copy the following files into the working folder:
    borders.dat
    citymap.dat
    citymap.met
    faces.dat
    faces.met
    housenrs.dat

    Confirm to overwrite existing files!

If you still have enough room left you can add the crpoi.dat and poi.dat files from the single country map to get POI's of your area,
add the cspeech file for your language

A couple of other tips re this truck set-up:-

Problem 1: When entering Vehicle height you can't add the . "dot" or ' foot mark eg.
if you want to add 14' 9" high, you can only enter 14' or 15' not between size.

Solution: if you set height at 14' then tap done...
it then goes to vehicle width, tap back...it goes back to vehicle height...
tap the screen anywhere but not on the keypad (this will remove the white box around the 14')
now enter 9 and then done, this will give you vehicle height of 14'9"
the same process can be done with vehicle length/height/width

Problem 2: After initial boot up after a hard reset or inserting your truck card when you CAN set your vehicle dimensions, this screen/option is not available again.

    Solution(s):
    1. Change preferences > Planning preferences > Edit vehicle profile from there
    or
    2. Set a new destination and when it's all set up the last screen will tell you your vehicle profile where you can change it

Also note, if you select "car/taxi/van/other" profile (rather than “Truck” then you lose the option to change vehicle profile again unless/until you remove the SD card/reboot/re-insert etc or do a factory reset THEN you have the option back.
Please do not just post "thanks" but use the "thanks" button bottom/right or the reputation star "*" bottom/left
