    If you DO want to use the 9.7** navcore (see other posts/reports about errors in this navcore) because you want to run the v910 or later Truck map (which will ONLY run on this navcore) then here are a couple of tweaks summarised below:-

    Problem 1: When entering Vehicle height you can't add the . "dot" or ' foot mark eg.
    if you want to add 14' 9" high, you can only enter 14' or 15' not between size.

    Solution: if you set height at 14' then tap done...
    it then goes to vehicle width, tap back...it goes back to vehicle height...
    tap the screen anywhere but not on the keypad (this will remove the white box around the 14')
    now enter 9 and then done, this will give you vehicle height of 14'9"
    the same process can be done with vehicle length/height/width

    Problem 2 (ONLY for the x40's): After initial boot up after a hard reset or inserting your truck card when you CAN set your vehicle dimensions, this screen/option is not available again.

    Solution(s):
    1. Change preferences > Planning preferences > Edit vehicle profile from there

    [Login or Register to remove this advertisement]

    or
    2. Set a new destination and when it's all set up the last screen will tell you your vehicle profile where you can change it

    Also note, if you select "car/taxi/van/other" profile you lose the option to change vehicle profile again unless you remove SD card/reboot/re-insert etc or do a factory reset THEN you have the option back.

    Any other solutions/tips/tricks specifically for these 9.700/9.701/9.702 navcores can be posted/asked here

    Wierd or what?

    Re Problem 2 above:-
    Just been asked to explain this to a customer using this on an x20 and an x40 & he says it didn't work like that.
    Just checked on my 520 (like x30's) and the normal "Edit Vehicle profile" is there on Preferences page 1 and on my 550 Preferences page 7 so no more problems with this??

    PS Just checked another couple of devices and the ONE XL does have this "Edit Vehicle profile" on Preferences page 7 BUT a 940 does NOT have this anywhere....so maybe this is "just" an x40 problem?

    some versions cannot go back to truck after changing to car-profile
    mostly changing EMU can solve
    but on a x40 , the only way = restore to factory-settings

    Thanks Bas although I personally don't like using the DSA versions with EMU switching etc.

    I was/am using a clean/orig navcore for the x20/x30/x40/x50's and my own "specials" from

    for the older devices

    It's just strange that my orig/clean version's fine on the x20 & the x50 but not the x40

    i have read that changing EMU on x40 causes trouble with EPS , therefor you cannot use other EMU
    beside resetting to factory settings , you can also change vehicle options when planning a route
    but its best to simply not change to car in the first place

    On an x40 particularly:-

    It does seem to lock-out that option once you've selected "car" profile and only removing SD card/hard reset etc can get the option back which is bloody stupid but hey, we are talking about TT here after all

    it seems that some models ( or EMUs ) show up only 2 sections in taskbar instead of 3 , which belongs to version 9 navcores

    to get the 3-parts bar back ;
    go to ; fleetcd and open ttw.bif ( w notepad or a text-editor )
    change build=1133776 into build=1133776.1

    Sadly this didn't help Bas

    After more playing I've found that on an x40 if you DO select car/taxi/van/other you lose the option to change vehicle profile again unless you remove SD card/reboot/re-insert etc or do a factory reset THEN you have the option back.
    However, on One XL or x50 device the option still remains in preferences page 1 and for the x20/x30 it's still on page 7 so it does seem that this glitch/pain only applies to x40 devices (not had a chance to test an x10 but I reckon that will be similar to the One XL/x50)
