Apart from those problems posted above; we also know that 9.702 works fine on an x40 or x50 BUT you cannot see the Traffic bar or get Live traffic which you could with the 9.701.

    One theory from DSA is:-
I have discovered what is wrong with NC v9.702: reading the traffic help, it says: "If the traffic receiver is looking for a radio station, the update symbol is shown at the top of the traffic bar."

So, TT has associated traffic with the RDS/TMC receiver, NOT with LIVE services... Boo Hoo, TomTom!

    From ANother:-
I can see the logic behind them doing this as this truck/work navcore is actually designed for non-sim devices like the x20/x30 which rely on RDS but then why doesn't the traffic bar still show even with the update symbol which would be more logical to me?

    DSA:-
Maybe because it is shown only if the RDS/TMC receiver is allowed (by TT) and detected as present.
There is a /proc/barcelona/rdstmc parameter which controls it, in the sense that probably should be set to 1 (instead of 0) for the RDS/TMC traffic bar to be shown. I assume that only some devices are "graced" by TT with this parameter set to 1. However, it could be forced to 1 for any device (by adding it to dsa.ko).

It does not help with the LIVE issue, though...
My impression is that the RDS/TMC feature is built-in in NC v9.702, instead of being controlled by the /proc/barcelona/rdstmc value (which is either set (to 1) by TT or only upon detection of the receiver).
I would give precedence to the RDS/TMC receiver: I would show an RDS/TMC traffic bar if the receiver is present (or /proc/barcelona/rdstmc is forced to 1, in skins/ttn, with an enhanced dsa.ko), then a LIVE traffic bar if a real (or fake, thank you very much!) GPRS is detected.

It's obvious that if the RDS/TMC receiver is plugged in by user, it's on purpose (of using it).

I am curious about what happens with NC v9.701 (or v9.510, any regular NC) when an RDS/TMC is used, is it an RDS/TMC traffic bar shown? Or still a LIVE one!?
I don't expect TT to integrate both sources (RDS/TMC & LIVE) in the same traffic bar... it would be too much to ask from them?

We could also add a menu button to switch between traffic sources - it would do a reboot though

So...is there anyone out there with an x40 or x50 Live running 9.702 and an RDS/TMC receiver could plug it in & see if you get the traffic bar back (plus same exercise running 9.701) please?

It's the same bar from my experience ... When Live is connected it's blue bar on the right only. As soon as device loses live connection RDS/TMC activates straight away with big green circle on top of traffic bar (9.510/9.510 dsa NC, have no time to play with 9.7xx at the moment).

That's interesting to know, thanks for testing this.

Main concern/query was/is based upon not being able to get Live Traffic through a simcard on cloned x40/x50's

As/when you do get the chance to play with the 9.702 it would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks, which "problems" have you found that have now gone away with 950+9.702?

Bad routing or needing to use bus profile or no traffic bar showing?

    Hello everyone
Has anyone tested the new Europe_TRUCK_950_6551 card?
because my GO720 she moved well, but when I look for a route, the GPS said " No truck route was found . would you use a car route instead? "
Thank you in advance for your help
