Default Power off time on a 740

I have installed truck onto my 550 and my 740, the x50 navcore on the 550 and the orig version onto the 740.

[Login or Register to remove this advertisement]

However both take the same length of button press time to power off. (approx 15 seconds)

Is this normal, I assumed the 740 would power off as normal as only the x50 had the problem.

    Any advice appreciated.

    The 740 has bootloader 5.5259 and Navcore 8.398 1917

I've certainly not heard of that x40 delay before, maybe worth running clearflash 3 times "just in case"

Do NOT rely on the 15 secs button on the x50 as I'm pretty sure it only goes into sleep mode and will still drain the battery.

You are correct with the 15 seconds on the x50, it does just sleep and the battery continues to drain, this was the reason I got hold of a 740.

I was hoping 740 turned off as normal, will try a clearflash later, i was wondering if it was bootloader related.

you may try the sdkRegisty tools
i did not like it , but maybe it works for you

    unzip
put the FOLDER named SdkRegitry in the root of your card / disk
now you have a bunch of new tools in your main menu
    one of them = shutdown

if you dont like , simply remove the folder again

Just with this files inside the SdkRegistry it will not work. Also need the extra folder with the files inside.

What about using the auto shutdown (ie Battery saving options)?

Does that still drain the battery when the device is 'off' ?

Yes 8.398 does have this auto shutdown function which is what you must use on x50's (& no it doesn't drain the battery)

Re the SdkRegistry I would say forget it, this is a standard 8.398 in a compatible device (x20/x30/x40) so no need for this
