    Chaps,
Thanks for all the ideas and info.
Been having a mess about and I have now sorted it.
I had navcore 9430SE installed on the internal memory and 8.398 on the microSD with the truck maps.

Even though the tomtom was booting from the sd and was running 8.398 and truck maps correctly somehow this was giving the fault.

I now have 8.398 installed on internal memory and just truck map on sd and it switches of in 2 seconds.

Shame though as I would have liked to use the navcore 9 when needed and switch to the 8.398 only when needed as I prefer the look of 9.

Cheers for all the advice and help though, and maybe my mistake will help someone else.

At least you have it sorted (sort of)
I have 3 740's with me with STANDARD 9.430 internal and 8.398 + truck on MicroSD cards & shutdown is normal

After a full Windows backup I'd suggest keeping the card for 8.398 & truck map and get the standard 9.430 back internally....just to try anyway.

PS what speed (class) card are you using as maybe a class 4 is a bit slow?

Maybe it was the SE version causing the problem, what maps are you using for the standard 9430, I tried a few and couldnt get them to work, but they all worked with the SE which is why I ended up that way.

Yes it is class 4, I will have a look through my cards and see if I have something quicker.

3 different legit maps all with the official 9.430

    Take an official version from

and copy/overwrite to your internal memory

PS remember it then needs patching to run downloaded maps too!

PPS I reckon it's cos you're using a "bit slower" class 4 card

What I already wrote you allso need the "extra" folder with the files inside. But you have a DSA Navcore and that you has that folder already.
