you could also check the file format of the sd card (fat32), put on the navcore first and let it boot until it says no map then put your map on and patch making sure it patches properly otherwise it will boot but the truck side of the navcore wont work, you could also run clear flash and do a full reset to see if that helps.

tried full reset and clear and nothing changes as soon as i put the navcore on it all freezes on the boot screen upon reboot although did have it working via pc and tomtom home earlier

As advised (shouted at) on the other forum, you actually have an x50 device Serial No W3....yes? so you need the x50 SE version from my collection.
I recommend you use a minumum class 4 (preferably class 6 or higher) card too.
Just follow the instructions from there (remembering to copy your ttgo.bif across to the MicroSD card too)
I suggest you delete everything apart from the truck map folder from the card & start afresh.
If you'd rather be shouted at on NT then just ignore us here & carry on over there but I can assure you my dumps WORK!Please do not just post "thanks" but use the "thanks" button bottom/right or the reputation star "*" bottom/leftS i m p l e s

It's very weird indeed but I have just had the same problem. I had truck working fine on a 740. Cutting a long story short, I went to reinstall the Truck N/C and Map on the external card and nothing just stuck at splash screen. Thought I had the wrong N/C loaded so tried different versions, same. Took the N/C off the SD and left the map, worked fine but from the standard N/C off the internal. Replaced the internal N/C with Truck N/C - nothing again. Most weird.
So basically the 740 is recognising the truck map but not 8.398 NC whether on the SD or internally installed
Just a thought, I started using a new Fastactivate recently v 188.8.131.52 which seems to patch maps & N/C's ok. The original Fastactivate Premium wasn't finding the server for the meta data. Could this be related do you think?

Re FastActivate, no, it's just that the new version doesn't connect to a server to look for metas and relies in metas pre-loaded.
Hav you tried running clearflash.exe 3 times as that can sometimes help. My x20/x30/x40 dump works fine on 740's I do so maybe reformat SD card then reload again? Please do not just post "thanks" but use the "thanks" button bottom/right or the reputation star "*" bottom/leftS i m p l e s

Have tried Clearflash x3+ and format, even tried x50 version in case. No go. Now trying x40 again.
Seems to be working with an earlier Truck navcore (navcore SE 8.396.1914 Truck)
Now try 8.398 again later. Still very confusing though, will d/l another 8.398 in case files corrupted
