Default EUROTUNNEL - problem for trucks?

    Hi Guys!

[Login or Register to remove this advertisement]

After hot, long discussion on other forum about Eurotunnel restrictions for trucks and no solution, how to planning route through Eurotunnel, BiggerDave asked me for find solution for confused lorry drivers.

So, 2day i start palying with my unit.
I must tell You that I never drove through Eurotunnel. Allways ferry, usually from/to Hull, so all what you can read there is just theory. All corrections/ideas welcome.

    I used this truck profile:

    Attachment 7818

Map tested: Europe Truck v. 880

Eurotunnel on this map is marked as TRAIN, not ferry:

Attachment 7810 with few restrictions for trucks: Attachment 7819

My first route was short trip from UK to France. After few (!!!) minutes of calculating, my TT found fastest route:

    Attachment 7813 Attachment 7822

As you can see, through tunnel.

Next step was long run from Hull to Rotterdam:

    Attachment 7814 Attachment 7815

Again, the fastest route was through Eurotunnel (why not ferry from Hull?).

OK, everything is fine, for now.
So, let's try other way: France - UK.

Again just short route. After another FEW minutes of calculating, the fastest route was...

    Attachment 7816

    FERRY!

    Attachment 7812

    But why?
    The problem is here:

    Attachment 7821 Attachment 7820

    After some map corrections:

    Attachment 7809 Attachment 7817

Now the fastest route is through Eurotunnel:

    Attachment 7811

    Hope, it will be helpfull.

    Regards, Kazupp

    P.S.

I personally, if want to go through any other EU/UK ferry terminal, just planning my route to that terminal, then on other side of channel, just planning again my destination point. It is faster for planning and not confusing me or my tomtom.

because if you choose no , youre not going anywhere
