I have just seen another example that, even though it is the same version, on one map (Iberia 1080.11141) an asphalt road appears and on another (Europe Truck 1080.11165) it does not appear at all. This road is in good condition and, on it, a truck can circulate perfectly. In addition, this road is very important because it is the only access to a very touristy place (Mina Peña de Hierro-Riotinto-Huelva-Spain) and the alternative that Tomtom proposes is much worse since it is a very bad route, because it is dangerous , due to the risk of damaging the vehicle or getting stuck, since it is an unpaved road, full of mud, puddles and holes. The road is the one marked in the photo and it can be easily checked since the coordinates of the mark appear on it.
That makes me think that when the map is larger, it has less detail and information than when it is a map of a smaller area. So, it is better to carry a small map, the problem is that if you drive a truck or a motorhome, to avoid risks, you are obliged to carry the Europe Truck map, because the Iberia, although it has more detail, does not come with the Truck attributes. That is, you either choose one advantage or the other, but not both.

It is not the first time that I discover differences between maps with the same version. One might think that the small map is totally contained in the large one, but this is not the case, as it covers more area, it loses information.

The routes can also be better if they don't have a Truck option.
And it is curious, because we find that there are examples in which if the route is drawn on the Europe Truck map, with truck attributes, it is much worse than if we remove those attributes or do it with the Iberia map, with a longer route, longer and more expensive, where the maximum speed limit has nothing to do with avoiding a prohibited road for a truck, because legality and safety are complied with at all times
For example, if, using the Iberia 1080.11141 map, I draw a route from the origin 36.156, -5.468, to the destination 36.61535, -6.21217 there is a route of 103 km, and although it is planned for a standard car, it is perfectly valid to do it with a truck, without any inconvenience. That route goes through the intermediate point 36.63201, -6.12866.
However, if I ask Tomtom for the same route with the Europe Truck 1080.11165 map, he gets me a route, much worse, 123 km, 1:38 h (by introducing the vehicle characteristics: Truck, weight 3.5 t, weight per axle 2.6 t, length 8 m, height 3.2 m, width 2.5 m, maximum speed 95 km / h). However, if I look for an alternative, forcing it to pass through the previous intermediate point of 36.63201, -6.12866, it improves me a lot and I get a route of 104 km, 1:28 h, which coincides with the one that, before, I calculated with the Iberia map, but it's much better than the one the Truck map gives me. And also, as I said, it does not present any inconvenience. In the event that I remove the characteristics and measurements of the truck and opt for a standard car, with the Europe Truck, I do get the same route as with the Iberia map.
Therefore, when adding the help of specifying the truck attributes, the planning ignores much better routes, which are perfectly feasible and allowed, having to force the navigator to go through certain intermediate points so that the route obtained is better.
In summary: the famous IQ routes are not so good, as they rule out possible routes, chosen for cars, which are much better.
This has happened to me with more than one route, which I have had to improve manually, adding intermediate points, if I did not want to stay with that first route, which Tomtom gave me and which was quite deficient. The downside is that when modifying a route it only allows me to force through a single intermediate point, so sometimes I have to divide it into several sections, to be able to put an intermediate point in each section. Then, when I don't know the place, I have to settle for what Tomtom gives me by default, although later I have verified that it has given me some totally unnecessary detour.
It is a method similar to the one I use when I want to go through some toll roads and not others. So I have to divide the route into pieces, because it only allows me yes or no for all highways, without differentiating them. Either all or nothing.
