@ tohis
In principle x50 = 37 in ONE goes well, anyway if in your ONE XL goes better, then great, in the post is proposed, but the finish is always to the user's liking.
Thanks for your comments, some will be good.

^ Update after some more testing. The signal is OK only after a cold boot. Needs pinhole reset, or enabling suicide from the main menu in order to have signal fix next time.
Also some settings in One XL emulation, for example status bar options, are reverted back to defaults after a boot. I would use the default x50 if it wasn't so slow in this device.
I haven't tried yet if QuickGPSfix will help after warm boot, but that would only be good for a week at a time. I wonder why it hasn't been made to cover any more, for example few months ahead?
Anyway, thanks for your efforts guys, this device is still usable.
--------
Update 2: looks like I got rid of the signal problems by deleting the \ephem folder. The files of QuickGPSfix seemingly did more harm than good in this case. No more cold boot needed to get signal fix. After a warm boot I get signal almost immediately if it was shut off for short time, and after few hours in few minutes like in a cold boot. I set suicide.dat into 10800 (3 hours) so in my typical usage I don't have a cold boot during the day. I also changed the emulation into x20 which looks promising and doesn't revert the status bar options to defaults like in One XL mode.
I hope I don't need to write "update 3: still having signal loss" at next week... :)

Update 3: shouldn't have said that aloud - it lost the signal again. Sheesh...
