Default 540 interface on a 550 unit. Is it possible. I want itinerary menus.

Perhaps you can help. I have a broken screen on my 540 TomTom and I also have a fully functioning 550.The 540 interface includes the ability to use itineraries whereas the 550 is sadly lacking in this area. Is it possible to install the 540 interface on a 550 unit. to get the itinerary buttons.

Among other things, the menu that appears is determined by the navcore.

You do not comment on what navcore you are using. If it is original, that navcore does not allow it. Can change the navcore or try what I explain to you, which will be good for you in a x50 and it is very easy.

You have itinerary planning in the main menu 3 of 4 with the original x50 (emulation value 37).

    Explain

In general terms, usually with the appearance of a device a new navcore appears and it has some functions that they consider suitable for that device.

The navcore of your device can be original (and patched to be able to use the patched maps) or it can also be "tuned" including other options that are not in the original.

DSA navcores allow you to modify the original menu for another, which is colloquially known as “using an emulation”.

This is more advanced and will allow you to test it without problems.

I give you a link so you can see a DSA and the possible emulations. Check the thread and if doubts arise, post on it and they will help you.

Your device has SD and can keep the navcore in the IM without touching anything and you put the invention in an SD.

When you have a device with IM and SD, if there is navcore in the SD it will boot from the SD, that is, you can test the matter without annoying anything.

Use a minimum SD of 8GB, copy the entire pack, put the map of your country, although the navcore is also a car truck and supports any nav2 map.

As always, it is interesting to read a little about the subject, etc. but above all reassure yourself that you are not going to spoil anything, another thing is that due to inexperience you leave something behind. It has happened to all of us, cheer up

    Greetings friend.

Do not ask for private, that's what the forum is for.
Your doubts, others have had, read the threads before asking, you will know the experiences and maybe they are resolved.
Facilitate device, operating system, version, install, internal or external memory, what you have done, where you stand ...
