I'm still using it and I'm quite satisfied with it.

But sure it's a little slow when you drive fast a winding road.

    Hi,
Is there any chance that TTActivator will support uploading the RDS/TMC definition on TT nav3 device ?

    Regards
    Mario

    Hi there,
I've used TTActivator several times to update my Start 20 without any problem.
Lately (I mean in the last 3-4 days) I've not been able to download QuickGPS Fixes: my chipset is Barracuda, and after a few seconds I get the error message:
"Unable to download QuickFixGPS files from TomTom server" (see printscreen, in Italian)

Playing around with WireShark I've seen that TTActivator tries to download a ttpkg package from the website download-ephemeris.tomtom.com

    at the URL:

    /nav3/ephemerides/gps-fix-20210808-074002.ttpkg

    without any success

    (the server replies with a
404 Not Found The requested URL /nav3/ephemerides/gps-fix-20210808-064003.ttpkg was not found on this server.)
Is it only happening to me? Someone could please help me?
    Thanks a lot!

Yes, same problem. I remove the card and update with MDC, in the internal memory I have normal MDC maps.

Orni, do you also remove the patch from your device before using MDC, don't you ?

I do not remove the patch, only the card where I install the TTActivator maps.

Is it safe to do so? I read this warning in a previous topic:

"It is strongly recommended by the MSTMS team that you DO NOT allow MyDrive Connect to update your NAV3 device as TT may develop a software "killer" that could negate, cancel or nullify all these extra cracks/tweaks/patches etc which could render your device useless!

Before downloading anything for your NAV3 device from MDC, please ask/check here if it's safe to do so."

It is safe to do so if you know what you are doing.
These kinds of warnings are necessary because people go with the mouse of the pc like chicken without a head, clicking without reading anything.

MDC will offer you many things:

    • Update speed cameras, if you have a paid subscription for speed cameras, it is always better to install it, instead of using TTActivator.
    • Update the map, if you have a paid subscription for the maps, it is always better to install it, instead of using TTActivator.
    • Update mapshare.
    • Update quickgpsfix.
    • Update zipcode.
    • Update the application (navcore, prato), this is where the problem is. If MDC has a new navcore for you, this is when you can remove its patch and be able to reinstall it. When MDC has a new navcore you cannot uncheck it for the download and that is when you will not be able to use MDC at all. As long as MDC does not offer you a new navcore, you can manage whatever you want, as long as you remove the unofficial maps, because those, if you are going to remove them anyway.
