Download speed is good now. But the problem is, it went down to just 6 kb/s only.
I wonder if the final file will not be corrupted...

    edit :
TTActivator tells me that the map has been downloaded successfully. But how can I be sure without a checksum (sha1 or sha256 for example) associated ?
I have doubts since part of the download was done at ultra low speed.

Same problem with this map :
The download speed starts at around 100 kb/s, then drops to 16,6 kb/s for several seconds :

Then go back to the maximum download speed that my line supports :
    It's a strange problem.

    edit 2 :
Only 3.7 kb/s for Europe map for several seconds at the start of the download :

I would say: just try it on you device.
If it works, it is good.
By TTActivator you don't have to worry about viruses.

As TT have just (today) publicly released the 1070 maps expect even slower download speeds for a few days while everyone rushes to get their latest maps!

In that case it is most likely your ISP throttling your download speeds

Why do all the maps I download with TTactivator on TomTom servers have in the file name "_tmp_0"?
    Thank you

The possible cause could be if you read the error message, the path to where the map is saved is too long.
I tested that by first saving it to a hdd, then I used a 16gb compact flash on which I placed a navcore, including the ttgo.bif,
the cf is recognized as a tomtom device and then it is easy to choose for save to device.

    Ensures success

Because if there are several parts, they must be numbered differently. The files downloaded in zip or ttpkg are considered temporary because in nav2 and nav3 the unzipped map is used mainly, in this way TTActivator will download the package as a temporary file and decompress it, if you uncheck the auto extract box, the files remain in the format that are downloaded named as tmp, that does not affect the functionality of the files, it would be the same if it called them candies 0, candies 1, candies 2 etc ... as long as it is a name that the program can identify and load in a variable.

That is sure not the one and onlly reason.
Read the error message when the download is finished.
Shorten the path to where you want to place the map is the most easy solution
I've test it several times, somewhere to a sub folder on the pc always gave me an error.
The same map to the root of mine Compact Flash, no problem at all.
I think it will also go fine to any HDD as long as it is to the root
