Complete noob regarding this sort of thing but, after reading through this thread I successfully updated an old 820 GO with a new map, wow this tool is amazing and so easy to use, even for a complete novice like myself, major KUDOS to the developers. :cool3:

Just done as you suggested "biggerdave", and backed up my PC :good:.
I have since updated my Rider which is used on my motorbike and an XXL that is used in the car, both running, SWEET.
I still have an old TomTom ONE that I tried to update as well but for some reason the map I am trying to install on to it "TTActivator" says that there isn't enough space available on the device.
To be fair I'm not really that bothered as its running an updated from stock map anyway, v1035.9676 to be precise so no worries there, ;)
Many thanks again for having such an amazing forum that is helping folks out.

I've backed them all up just in case, you never know,:ap:

Thank you for TT Act 1.20. Lately it is not displaying or picking up my nav3 device, and when it does connect it is not seeing/listing all components, even after using TTom Mydrive Connect to update old firmware. That would mean cable is ok, and I have discovered low or weak battery often causes connect issues. The firmware version is supported - #3 on that list. But does appear to install ttpkg files. Looks like something changed, and I will try another machine to isolate suspicions. Unrelated to that my old XXL IQ routes ones, some developed an unresponsive DONE button, where there is also a light touchscreen bruise in lower LH corner. I believe this is the battery has swelled up, and throwing out touchscreen co-ordinates. TT may get their wish - as 16 years is a pretty good innings relative to defective Navman S80 batteries from the day it was made. I managed to pick up a recent start model for $40 secondhand with lifetime maps - and did a map update to 1125. No action required at this stage, as I try high current charge dongles next.
