Codegen-tool in Excel for administration and patching
Long time ago I started to develope this tool to have a own administration of my TT-devices and maps.
This tool is not a replacement for FastActivate and A_F_Activate. When you only want to activate one map for one Tomtom device, these tools are quicker.
The difference with other tools is that Codegen also contains a database of meta-codes (more than 4700 at the moment) and map properties (IQroute, ALG, Cspeech, ASR, TTSVocalizer, Housnr) based on the build numbers (more than 800) of the different maps.
Also it is a kind of administration tool for the DeviceID’s of TomTom devices you have or you want to activate maps for for someone else.
You can activate you library of maps (a folder which contains all the maps you have) for one device in one time.
So the main tasks are:
- Choose one of your TomTom devices
- Activate the map library (one or more maps in one time)
But Codegen is also capable of patching a navcore, TTHome DLL, find a bootloader version number, display TTgo.bif file properties and create a fresch meta.txt file for using elsewhere.
The next languages are available: English, Dutch, German, Spanish and French.
You are welcome to add another language. Just send me a PM and I will tell you what to do.
You can use it (when you have MS-Office 2007 or higher) by unpack the Codegen_Public_Excel.rar file in an empty folder. Use Rar version 5.xx.
Since I found out that the last one did not work well for some MS Office 2016 versions and lower, I added a second version.
The primary version is “Codegen_Public.xlsm”, but if the version “Codegen_Public.xlsm” doesn’t work correct for your Office version then use “Codegen_Public_2016-and-lower.xlsm”.
I added a small instruction for the first time setup of Excel before startup the program. Please read "Instruction for setting up Excel first time.rar".
Please read one of the manuals before you start asking questions.
Have fun and I like to hear from you what you think of it.

Clean up some faulty meta-codes
The meta-codes still are till map version 1051 and Equivalent lines till map version 1050.

With what program should I open the file to work properly. If I open the file with Libre Office Calc I get a different screen. Not all the options are there.

It is build in MS Office PRO 2019 and should work on all versions of MS Office 2007 and higher.
I don't know how it should work with not MS office versions.

For feedback purposes only, when opening in Microsoft Office Excel it is opened in protected mode which is easy to change to get to the correct page. When opening in WPS Office Excel there is no warning of protected page opening and no option to change view to the correct page as shown in the manual so the tool is unusable. While I have not tried Libre Office, this may be the problem encountered by duur1duur and the reason he could not use the tool.

Thank you for your feedback. But I don't know what to do with it.
When I try your Codegen example.rar it works properly in MS-Office (ofcource swiching of the protected mode).
What do you expect that we (I) do with your feedback?

I do not expect you to do anything with my feedback, I thought I should bring a probable cause of a problem mentioned by another forum member to your attention. Yes the software works well under ms office but unfortunately there are many people who may wish to use your fantastic tool that run other office suites, all of which claim compatibility to ms office. If there is no easy method of making universal compatibility then I have no problems with that and I fully appreciate your hard work. It would be remiss of me not to bring a probable cause of potential problems to your attention and it was certainly not directed as a complaint of any sort, the software is working very well for me.
