I updated the meta using option 1, which gives correct meta for map
Then did option 2, but gives error ".dct error"
Boot up device and says "problem with map"

It depends on whether the correct meta code is in the meta file. just changing the name is not sufficient, you need the correct Meta.txt then use Meta.txt from as previously stated as FastActivate currently does not have the most up to date Meta.txt file. Easiest method id copy and paste the correct blowfish code to your Meta file and save and rerun option #2. It WILL WORK. Then it will show voices, complete maps, Incomplete maps, then speedcams. If it shows Incomplete map, you know the meta/blowfish code does not exist for that map(s)
From the latest version 1010 and 1011 the updated_meta.txt file has 146 meta's the meta.txt only 128
Which one is not up to date.
The problem with Fastactivate at present is that the name updated_meta.txt not always will be used by the Fastactivate tool
Most likely is that there is already an elder meta.txt in the same folder or SD card or whatever you want to do the patch
And than as mentioned already renaming will solve that problem and overwrite the former elder meta.txt
Next problem is, when they forget to check if there is for a particular map a meta code available
Despite the latest Fasactivate is from 25-03-2018, several times a day I see users trying to get a Fastactivate tool update via an old link
If there are problems to get an update via the buildin option within Fastactivate, get the one they is offered at this forum
A link will soon appear with a simple link to quickly and easily provide the meta.txt with the latest meta.txt version
As promised
Put both exe file into the same folder where you want to patch your map
You'll get a clean meta.txt file
Goodluck
When I download 'latest fastactivate' (post 1) via window10, I get a message that there is a virus (trojan) in 'latest-fastactivate.rar, and the file is deleted.
Is this a real virus (trojan) ??
It's common with all patch and or activate tools
