Default Using An Image Of Your Own Car In Place Of The Default Arrow Image

This is a post explaining how to use an image of your own vehicle instead of the default arrow image on your device's map display ( depending if your device model supports this ). All that is needed is is a rear ended picture of your car ( picture quality is not really an essential - I used a cheap mobile phone ) and the use of an image editor ( you can use a free online image editor but I used Microsoft Paint which does the job just as well ).

First, crop the image of your vehicle so as to remove as much excess background as possible.

Next playing about with the stretch/skew options shrink your image so that it's attributes does not exceed heigth/width of 80 pixels.

Once you have done that use the zoom option to increase the image size ( the image will now look blurry and pixellated - but don't worry about that ) and then fill in the background with red paint. You must use a particular shade of red paint so click the custom colours, chose red and add 255 into the red properties box and then use that shade.

Finally, return the image to it's normal size and then save it as a 24 bit .bmp image using the "save as" option in the "file" option in Microsoft Paint or the particular image editor that you are using.

Then add/copy the image to the "cars" folder in your device root. This is found in the "art" folder on your device. You can then choose to use the image by using the menu options on your device.
