hmmm... i can't find anything that can help me! i just what to know if i install a newer navcore it will change the appearence of the map? better graphics?
Fooling with navcores which are built in car is never a good idea .
Most often these navcores are integrated or at least communicate with the car-software !!!
If either your dealer or Tomtom Home dont update , better leave as is .
Upgrading your map cant hurt though .
edit ;
If its just for the looks ;
Try ColorSchemeEditor and see if you can get the CLR file inside ( dont know if it works , but it works on all Tomtom devices )
With a bit of googling you should be able to find some CLRs too , ready to use
Normal procedure for Tomtom ;
Create a folder in navcore and name it "schemes" .
Drop the CLR in there .
I downloaded Attached Files Attached Files
File Type: rar Navcore Installer.rar (1.6 KB, 343 views)
but inside the rar file is a " Navcore Installer.dlc " file....what to do with the " Navcore Installer.dlc "file?
Insert the *.dlc in a download-manager like JDownloader2. Then this tool is downloading your request (the downunder-NC-installer).
hi folks. somehow managed to stumble to here and work out how to create a message!
basically i have just been given my first ever tomtom. i have no idea if i have lifetime maps on the thing or not. suspecting not.
if i don't, what on earth do i do to keep them fresh and updated? someone said to come here and look about but all i see is numbers and versions and ARGGGHHHHHHHHHH i'm sooooooo confused by it all :-( I what exactly is this NAVCORE thing?
i am such a technophobe you would not believe!
sorry if this is pretty vague but i really AM the clueless one!
thanks in advance for anyone that can point me in some useful direction with this.
cheers!!!
You need to find out a couple of things before you can continue, namely what model of TomTom you have and what navcore (operating system/device software) it has installed on it.

Once you've found that out...we can look into updating the maps etc
