Tomtom GO 6250 or Tomtom GO Expert ?

The response from Tomtom support is that my request to import POI files has been forwarded to the appropriate team but that adding new features can take a long time. I have complained that this feature exists in previous models and is something a lot of users would need and can't understand why they have decided to omit it in the Expert model.

@Orni, assuming that it may be a long time before Tomtom fix this, or maybe never, does the NAV5 patch work for the GO Truck Expert and would it enable me to copy my personal POI files to the device.

Well, I think you're probably about right there.

My trusty GO 920T with truck navcore and maps has served me well whilst caravanning for a good number of years but I thought it was time to upgrade so forked out the £350 for the Truck Expert. I (probably naively) expected it to have similar features to my Rider 410 which does enable import of both POI files and Routes, mostly because the menu format appeared to be more or less the same from what I could see in the advertisements. It's a pity because in every other respect it's really good, very clear graphics and fast. I'm not too feared about patching it if that's the only way I can add my own POI files within a reasonable time scale, for our trip to France next summer (Covid permitting) so I'll need to study that in more detail.

Thankyou for the help but unfortunately my GO Expert navcore is now 21.300.0003 (21/09/2021) so I presume there is no patch for it yet as the latest in post 1 of the patching guide thread is 21.200.0003.411.
