Default new sat nav wont go into recovery

anybody come across a solution to this,
brought another start 60, last one broke trying to patch it
the new one (second hand) will not go into recovery
flashes tomtom for a second then spinning circle ,then no pc connection sign
tried different leads ,no leads ,no sd card .same result.
done a factory reset no problem.

Firstly, I'm wondering why it was up for sale (possibly quite cheap?) or have you already answered that yourself maybe??

thank you for your pearls of wisdom,
i have purchased another start 60 ,and guess what this will not go into recovery also,
once is unlucky ,twice ? something is going on.
the first one i updated to latest navcore .
the second one is showing 2017 last time it was updated .so cannot be navcore causing problem
if i plug either into pc when spiral is spinning it goes into restore fine ,gets to 100% then restarts
but i still cannot get into recovery to patch it
both start 60 are running fine ,no problems . except recovery.

So the device went into recovery mode. Which TomTom Start 60 variant do you have, Nav3 or Nav4?

both are nav4 ,both have newer gui interface
when trying to get into recovery ,i always end up with screen showing pc and sat nav icon with red x on cable joining them, after spinning spiral.
couple i have done in the past for work mates ,went straight to tomtom logo after long press then 3 presses on start button .
cannot seem to patch it with red x on screen
    thanks
the only thing that is different from previous tomtoms is I'm running windows 11 ?
anybody confirm patching still works ok on windows 11

This can be done only in recovery mode!

To patch your TomTom Start 60 Nav4 device, you need to insert the magic SD card into it and go through the recovery steps. The TomTom logo will appear on the screen and then connect the device to the PC. I have TomTom Start 60 Nav4 and I went through all these steps on it without any problems.
