The Truck and Camper maps are functional in nav5 in the same way as they are in nav4 and they suffer from the same problem, originally, the device shows the vehicle selection menu for the Truck map by default.


We can modify this menu in a simple way by modifying the patchit.sh file, located in the " / internalstorage / mstms " folder.

We connect with Filezilla to the device with the server number 169.254.255.1 and port 21, for this connection the device must have the MSTMS patch installed.

Username and password can be left empty.
After filling in the port we press enter and the program will connect to the tomtom, if it is connected to the pc from usb,

With the connection made we look for the file "patchit.sh" in " /internalstorage/mstms/patchit.sh "
We right click on the file and select View / Edit

Just BEFORE the 2 lines that start with "kill $ (busybox pidof com.tomtom.navkit)"

We have to modify the file by writing this line:

• setprop ro.tomtom.pnd.model_id "X0C"

The file will look like this:

We close and save the changes.

The filezille program shows us this message:

We click on "Yes" and that's it.
Now it is convenient to check if the file permissions have been maintained.
Click the left mouse button on the file and select file permissions:

Press accept and we can close the Filezilla program, restart the Tomtom device and now if you select the Camper or Truck map, your vehicle selection menu is shown as Camper:

If you want to go back to the truck menu, you just have to edit your "patchit.sh" file, eliminating the line you have added.

Important, do not modify any other files on your system if you do not know what you are going to do, you cannot remove maps or other files by force.

It doesn't matter which map you have on the device, if you put your file "patchit.sh" with the line:

• setprop ro.tomtom.pnd.model_id "X0C"

Your menu will be displayed for camper selection, on the Europe_Truck and Europe_Camper maps. If you want the device to show the Truck menu you remove the mentioned line from your "patchit.sh" file.

I use firefox to navigate and for some reason it does not show the images of that host, I have already seen them, you can remove them if you want I have removed part of its serial number.

I can't find a reason why the menu change doesn't work, but the "nav4-b6" hardware for me is new and maybe that's the reason.
