Hi, I have a Start25 tomtom that a map update through Myconnect was attempted. The unit is not cracked as it has free updates. The update failed and the unit now says no maps installed. update has been attempted numerous times now and they all fail at various % of the update. A map update is one of the updates that is available. I have tried a reset but pressing the on button 3 times after the boot screen comes up does nothing. The update has been tried by downloading file to computer and straight to the TomTom. TTactivator does not see the unit. Not sure if unit is supposed to be seen by windows explorer as a drive, but it is not.
Any ideas on what is going on would be much appreciated.

It's totaly impossible to view the Start 25 Windows.
If there is still aan account available, try it once more, once you must succeed.
I don't know about the stability of your internet connection, but if you get disconnected from the server I can imagine this errors.
I have no idea if the Start 25 also has an SD slot.
If that is the case, you also need Rlinkexplorer to put a new map on it via TTactivator

Thanks for your reply. Will keep trying. Myconnect has the ability to download the update to the computer and then upload it to the tomtom, so its not the connection.

The computer does not see the Nav3 GPS as a unit. This is only possible with GPS with Nav2. You need to make sure that there is enough space on the computer, on the unit where the map is downloaded. You need an SD card, only if the map does not fit in the internal memory of the GPS. If there is room and you have a free upgrade, everything should go smoothly. No need to use TT Activator.

Thanks, Only tried TTactivator as a last resort. Have tried multiple times again today and the update gets to 46% and fails. I think there must be a problem with the unit.
