Indeed, that is to be expected when everything is complete, but you miss everything you need.
When I made a mistake with TTActivator I lost the navcore, I'm very sure, I would try again if I had a problem, but to not wake them up there and no wiser than they are already I limit that rather as much as possible.

But what else could you do, possibly remove even more via TTActivator, so you will not get much further.
Maybe upload a suitable navcore via TTActivator to the Start 25, but I thought you would need it in ttpkg format.
I do have a few in that format, but which one should you have now that is the question

I don't think there is any more that could be removed from the TT as when the Start is turned on it looks to be setting up after a factory reset as it is asking for Language. Is there a way to add a navcore from TT Activator as I couldn't see anything that was offering that as an option. Your point is true tho' which navcore would be the correct one.

I'm beginning to think it's beyond repair.

Start and hold the button til you get the black screen
Leave the black screen by pressing three times the on/off button
Your device must now start in the recovery mode
    Orni wrote somewhere about it.

I tried that but after pressing the on/off button 3 times the TT just turns off. It does this even when on a mains charge as I thought that maybe the battery was a problem.

I think we're running out of ideas. I have a hammer handy as this could be the next suggestion.

I would sleep on it for 1 night first, the hammer is only the very last.
I would repeat what you have done before step by step.
I did not put a new map on it all at once with my Start 20.
4 times instead of 3 times the on / off would also be possible, as I have read someone else's experience.

Another such comment Dave and I will delete you from my friends list.
There is really nothing more that can be done about a device when the printed circuit board falls apart like crumbs.
Don't give up to soon, tomorrow is maybe a better day.

I’ll keep trying but the missing navcore seems to be the problem. More updates tomorrow

    Mine Start use navcore 12.075.3065980.84 (0) (2300, 13-7-2018), OS 2663383

Feel free to test any of the ttpkg bootloaders, please.
