Default Using SD card >16GB with R-Link Explorer [without resizing]

As some people may have noticed, R-Link Explorer does not work properly with SD cards that are larger than 16GB. The workaround people have been using involves resizing the FAT32 partition to 16GB.

However, it possible to use the full space available on the SD card without doing this. The following method was tested using a 32GB SD card.

    1. If you have shrunk your SD card partition, please resize it back to the full size.

    2. Reformat your SD card as FAT32 (you will lose all your data on the SD card).

    3. Insert the SD card back into the TomTom while it is turned on, it will read the memory card and ask to format the card, press "Yes".

    4. Insert the SD card into your SD card reader again. Open Command Prompt and enter the following commands (replace D: with the drive letter of your SD card):

    Code:

This will remove the "read-only" attribute so that tools/applications can modify the files properly.

and overwrite TTFS.dll with the attached version at the bottom of this post. There is a bug in this file which prevents TOMTOM.010, TOMTOM.011, .... etc, from being read properly from the SD card.

    6. Enjoy. R-Link Explorer should work properly with your larger SD card partition.

    Thanks very much master131.
Is this patch also working for SD cards =< 16 Gb?
I mean, can you use it without a negative effect on smaller SD cards?

There should be no adverse effect on smaller SD cards, they are not affected by the issue.

OK, than maybe it is better that Orni brings the patch in the official download of R-Link explorer.
So you only have to deal with Fat32 format and the ”attribute” issue by bigger SD cards.

I have checked the operation of the 64Gb card, it works perfectly.
I have made the format in the gps.
    I have put the card.
I have opened R-link Explorer I have tried to create the virtual drive and I have not succeeded.
I knew it would not work, because I have not changed the attributes, I wanted to know what happens without using cmd. What happens is that the drive cannot be created in the right window.
I have made the instructions of master131 to modify the attributes from the cmd console.
Now I can create my virtual drive in R-link Explorer.
I have repeated the steps of creating the card three times with the gps, one of them has failed, after loading the map the gps shows the empty card, sometimes it happens, also with smaller cards.
I prefer to create the sd with R-link Explorer, I avoid having to put the card in the gps to format it and it fails less times. Just add the SDHC_model folders that R-link Explorer does not create.

    Thanks master131 for this patch.
Now it would be nice if the Djeman partner enabled attribute change in R-link Explorer so that they don't have to use cmd.

Thanks - I do not not know how to contact djeman, but the fixes are below if someone can pass them along to them:

    1. Fix TTFSIO.cpp code from

    2. Make sure the read-only attribute is removed from the TOMTOM.xxx files on SD card.

That is remarkable Orni, the SD card created in RLinkexplorer does not work for me.
Created in the Start 20 and then equipped with everything needed for the RLink explorer it works fine.
But it is good to be able to use different experiences.
What has not yet been successful, the speed cams, not visible or audible, but I am not the only one as I have read.
My question is where are those speed cams when automatically put on the system by TTactivator.
It contains 2 maps, internally the Benelux and on the SD card Europe.
See if I can find them somewhere.

We will leave this task to jpgblue (if you don't mind) who speaks the same language as Djeman. Comrade Djeman can be found on the forum
