I have ttactivator and r-link. Downloaded Europe_1075_11074. The problem is when i start R-link i cant see tomtom.000 anywhere. made a backup and using 8gb second card so i can keep the original intact.

@ifancho, You can't do this system this way. You must have an SD card with a defined CID number and a controller that corresponds to this system.

So what is the correct procedure to update the maps? I managed to update few smaller things form tomtom Home 2 and i was able to chane the map region withoth any charges. I switch from Central EU to Eastern EU since i bought the car from there. Now i have the right map but still need help for the updates.

You have to get the maps either by buying from tomtom, or by buying a card with the modified cid.

There are colleagues in the forum who sell cards for various systems that have not been opened, such as NVA (it is yours) or Carminat Live and others.

Hi. So if i had the money to buy card from TT(they ask for 95euro) i would. Is there a way to modify a new 8GB sd card by myself? I saw that u can buy modified cid card from Alibaba but i`ll wait on that one for now. Can someone explain why i need the changeble CID card and not just another sd card?

In order to install non-purchased maps on any tomtom system you need two things:

    • Patch the navcore
    • Activate the map.

In your NVA system activating the map is viable, but patching the navcore is not.

As this system does not work, you must use the system to fool your NVA by putting a card that simulates the cid number of your original card.

On the modified card you must put an activated map cup for the cid number of the original card.
You yourself do not think you will be able to:

    • Modify the cid of the card
    • Get the copy activated for the cid.

These steps generate a cost: map copy, change ID, card to be used, work done, sending the card, installation assistance. That is why I advise you to use the services of some of the forum colleagues who help those things.

On the contrary, if you do not want to buy modified cards and you want to try to modify your own card, there are videos on youtube of how to modify the cid from Linux, but you will need a modifiable card (not all of them) and a map copy activated for your system, this last I do not know where.

As far as i understood reading the CID of the original card is a simple task (i have ubuntu and all kind of linux distros around + arduino with sd module). Samsung Evo cards seem cid changeble + custum 8gb sd card from AliEx is $6-8. I have already downloaded the last possible update. Do i patch the maps thru TTActivator or there is another tool i can use. And last i really want to tank you for trying to help me.
I succsesfully updated audi q5 and mitsubishi maps but mazda-tomtom i have never used so the whole system is unfamiliar to me

I do not know the details of your mazda or Carminat Live, because they both have the same problem, we cannot patch the navcore.
I can tell you what I can't do, but I don't know how to solve it, other than buying a card with a suitable copy from the CID.

Ok so i'll try to copy the original CID to another card. I have a spare Samsung Evo 16gb laying around and after will go from there.

Hello, one question please : if I plan to update my previous full Europe Map (on a SD) to the new version should I backup my favorites or else? If I got it right I should delete the previous map and drag the new one using R-Link...Does that mean I'll loose any favorites, Thanks for your help.
