P.S.
The same navcore 9.510 is used.
As Peter says, it appears that all NAV3 maps with metas can (should be able to) be used on NAV2 devices running navcore 9.0xx
Those failed ones are NAV4 maps so maybe a different story/situation is needed?
For now, we'll have to make do with it.
I still have a TomTom Via, but that doesn't help a nav1 or nav2 user, it stays with this list
I have had that tool from Orni too a few years ago.
So, here it is with a small manual:
- Place the folder somewhere on your computer.
- Place the folder of the map you want to reduce in this folder.
- Run “Optimize_nav3.exe” and follow the questions on the screen.
Best result to say “Yes” on every question.
When finished the map will be reduced and usable on a nav2 device.
Once again thanks to Orni (We still miss you very much!)
Peter
That's right, Orni made that tool a long time ago. There is a guy in another forum as if he had discovered America, saying how to convert a Nav3 map into Nav2 (with a magic wand?...). What you really do is delete unnecessary files for a Nav2, which if they are not deleted the map would also work...the essential thing is to have a navcore 9XXX

@PeterHimself
When I download the Orni optimizer in my PC (Windows 11 64bit 22H2) Windows Defender report it as virus.
I'm quite sure that it's a false positive.
It's just for report.
Please check archive.
It seems contain two times the file "Optimize_nav3.
One time in root folder.
One time in Optimize_nav3 folder.
And it seems that he has discovered Coca-Cola.
And I think, I may be confused, that NAV3 maps are compressed maps; As it is, it can only be done with NAV 9.XXXX or higher (this is what it says). But what I don't agree with is that it says that it can also be done with NAV 8.2XXX....
